Company Overview

At Applied Intuition, Inc. (Applied), we are building advanced simulation and infrastructure tools for the autonomous vehicle industry. Our goal is to allow companies pursuing AV technology (both Silicon Valley startups and traditional OEMs) to accelerate their software development process while ensuring that their AV products are safe for consumers. Our team is composed of senior engineers from a cross-section of companies, such as Alphabet (Google X and Waymo), Delphi, Tesla, General Motors, and Bosch, along with experienced sales managers and seasoned operations professionals. The company has offices in both Silicon Valley and Detroit, Michigan.

Marc Andreessen is a co-founder and general partner of Andreessen Horowitz. Before entering the world of venture capital, he was a highly respected software engineer and co-authored Mosaic, the first widely used web browser. He was also co-founder of Netscape (acquired for $4.2B) and later the enterprise company Opsware (acquired for $1.7B). Beyond Applied, Marc is a board member at a handful of notable Silicon Valley companies including Facebook and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Marc is an alum of UIUC.
Mike Maples is a co-founder and general partner of Floodgate Fund where he was a seed investor in Twitter (public), Twitch.tv (acquired for $970M), and Okta (public). Before entering the world of venture capital, Mike was involved as a founder and operating executive at back-to-back startup enterprise IPOs, including Tivoli Systems and Motive. Mike is an alum of Stanford University and Harvard Business School.
Lux Capital is a venture capital firm that specializes in businesses that solve deeply technical problems. Through their $1.4B fund, Lux has invested in AV companies like Zoox and Aeva as well as other industry-defining companies like Planet Labs, Desktop Metal, and more. The Applied investment was led by Bilal Zuberi.
John Doerr is the chairman and founder of venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins. Few, if any, investors have had as prolific of a career in venture as John. At the helm of KP, John was an early investor in Google, Amazon, Netscape, Intuit, Square, Bloom, and Sun Microsystems, among many others. He is an alum of Rice University and Harvard Business School.
Tribe Capital is a venture capital firm co-founded by Arjun Sethi. The fund specializes in early product market fit inflection points. Arjun was previously a Partner at Social Capital which invested in Slack. He was also the co-founder of Lolapps and Messageme. Arjun was also an an early investor into Gusto, Front, Snap and many more. He is an alum of University of Maryland College Park.
Naval Ravikant is the founder and CEO of AngelList and previously founded Epinions (acquired by Shopping.com). He is immensely respected in the angel investing community and was an early investor in Uber, Twitter, Stack Overflow, and more. He is an alum of Dartmouth University.
Elad Gil is the founder of Color Genomics and was previously co-founder and CEO of Mixer Labs (acquired by Twitter). Elad was also an early employee at Google. He has invested in and advises some of the most successful companies in Silicon Valley including Airbnb, Coinbase, Gusto, Square, Stripe, and many more. Elad is also the author of High Growth Handbook, and he is an alum of UCSD and MIT.
Ilya Sukhar is a general partner at Matrix Partners. Before Matrix, Ilya founded Parse (acquired by FB) and subsequently led developer products and platform for Messenger. Ilya is an alum of Cornell University.
Haystack is a venture capital firm founded by Semil Shah. Haystack was an early investor in Carta, DoorDash and Instacart. Semil also serves as a Venture Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners. He is an alum of Harvard University and University of Michigan.
Village Global is an network-focused early stage venture firm. Village is backed by Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Reid Hoffman, and Jeff Bezos. The Applied investment was led by Erik Torenberg.
SV Angel is an angel investment firm run by Topher and Ron Conway. Over the last 20 years the firm has invested in companies such as Google, Facebook, PayPal, Dropbox, Airbnb, Pinterest, Twitter, Snap, Square, Cloudera, and many more.
